What youâll learn
Week 1 â Technical Foundation + Technical Portrait
6 Sessions
Begin with the Technical Class, your first step into Science of Sketching. Learn posture, hand control, observation and foundational techniques through guided exercises, drawing human features, and exploring the Science of Sketching tool order.
Then move into the Technical Portrait, where youâll learn portrait proportions, facial structure, light, shadow, tonal values and charcoal technique while creating your first technical portrait.
Week 2 â Personal Portrait
9 Sessions
Now, bring someone meaningful to you onto the paper. Draw the portrait of someone you know and explore the connection you share with them.
As you observe their face closely, you may begin to notice emotions, memories and details youâve never seen before. Through drawing, you learn to observe, understand and express what you feelâturning a portrait into a deeply personal experience of connection and expression.
Schedule: 2 sessions every alternate day.
Week 3 â Self Portrait
9 Sessions
For the first time, look at your own face with complete attention. Study your facial structure, proportions, asymmetry, expression and identity while creating a finished charcoal self-portrait.
This is more than drawing your faceâit is an opportunity to look deeply at yourself, observe without judgment, and discover details you may have never noticed before.
Schedule: 2 sessions every alternate day.
Week 4 â Easel Training
9 Sessions
After three weeks of intensive training at the table, your hand is ready to move to the easel.
Learn easel setup, large-scale drawing, composition, scaling, tonal blocking and advanced tools. Experience greater freedom of expression as you work on a larger scale and develop your own artistic style with confidence and independence.
Schedule: 2 sessions every alternate day.
